Cody Reading turns the phonics skills a student is learning into decodable stories, word lists, and resources you can use right away. Built by Orton-Gillingham-certified reading specialists and grounded in the Science of Reading, it helps educators spend less time preparing materials and more time teaching.
Cody Reading began with a problem our founders knew firsthand: finding the right text for one student can take longer than teaching the lesson itself. We built Cody to make that preparation faster without losing the careful skill matching effective reading instruction depends on.
Our Mission
Give every educator practical, research-based tools that meet students where they are, so more planning time becomes teaching time. The students get more time practicing and enjoying the magic of reading.
What We Believe
A student should not have to fit the resource. The resource should fit the student. We believe structured literacy should be easier to put into practice in every classroom, tutoring center, and school district.
How It Works
Choose a lesson from your favorite scope and sequence or select a student profile, then tell Cody what you want to make. It uses the specific phonics patterns being taught to create decodable stories, word lists, and other resources at the right point in your scope and sequence. You get a useful starting point in seconds, with the educator still in control.
